Chestnut is best for snacks

BY Berton Gladstone 2020-05-15

The long vacation is coming, and I will travel to Liaodong with friends and family. Departing early on the 30th, take the Shen-Shenda Expressway to Liaoyang, turn to Changchangling, and expressway to Benxi Huanren at 17:00, overnight at Huanlong Lake (actually super large reservoir). On the morning of the 1st, you will visit Wunv Mountain, the mountain scenery is average, and the cultural taste is also common (here are some ruins that are said to be the ancestors of Goguryeo). On the morning of the 2nd, I crossed the mountain to Kuandian (belonging to Dandong) Qingshangou. The red, yellow, green and blue trees on the mountain were scattered and beautiful. They stayed overnight in the farmhouse. There are many kinds of plants in the Qingshan Valley, and they grow lushly. Among them is the specialty known as Liaodong-chestnut.

The chestnut grows on the tree, and the shell is covered with dense, thin and hard long thorns, which is particularly stiff. At this time, the shell of most of the chestnut fruit has been half-exploded, exposing several brown chestnuts, smashed the shell, and the inner chestnut was removed.

Although chestnuts are generally classified as nuts, their ingredients are very different from common nuts such as peanuts, cashews, walnuts, hazelnuts, and melon seeds, and their protein and fat content is very low (fresh chestnut protein The content is 4% to 5%, the fat is about 1%), and the content of carbohydrates (starch) is very high (40% for fresh chestnut and 77% for dry chestnut), rich in B vitamins. Its nutritional value is similar to and slightly higher than that of food. Chinese medicine believes that chestnut has the functions of strengthening the spleen and stomach, nourishing qi, nourishing the kidney and strengthening the heart. However, eating chestnuts is not easy to digest and easy to bloating, and because it contains a lot of starch, it is easy to eat too much energy, so it is appropriate to eat a small amount-in short, it is eaten as a snack.

The easiest way to eat chestnuts at home is boiled. This is also my most recommended; there are sugar fried chestnuts and fried chestnuts made into snacks (I don’t recommend these); you can also use the microwave Explode (this is very big, scary, not suitable for beginners); I also bought a bag of flavored chestnut snacks in the supermarket, Japanese style, very delicious.
