May 1 vegetable tour

  On May 1st plus the weekend, it was only 3 days off. It was actually called the "small long vacation", which is really not true. However, I still organized colleagues and family members of the nutrition department to go to the organic farm of friends in the countryside. The location is between the mountains and rivers near Zhuanghe. Arrived in the afternoon on the 1st, and left at noon on the 2nd. The round-trip high-speed journey took more than 6 hours, and the whole way was full of spring.

  Organic farms are currently mainly grown in greenhouse vegetables, and also raise pigs and chickens. There are a total of 6 greenhouses, and there are a lot of vegetable patterns. Fortunately, there is a graduate student who is studying agriculture to explain, otherwise my nutritionist and I will not recognize all vegetable varieties.

  All vegetables are grown organically without the use of medicines, pesticides, ripening agents or other medicines are not used. They are purely organically grown. Insect pests are mainly controlled by adjusting the temperature and humidity in the greenhouse, and also use non-drug deworming methods. No medicine is needed for pollination, all rely on manual operation.

   Borrowing the kitchen of their farm, I personally cooked some dishes in a large pot. It is mainly based on locally sourced vegetables, combined with eggs and a small amount of pork. Although I have been away from the countryside for decades, I still remember the main points of the big pot cooking. It was quite successful, and everyone had a great time.    4. Tomato, that is, tomato. Organically grown tomatoes are generally small, but they taste very good, reminding everyone of the tomatoes they ate in childhood. Now you can hardly buy such pure flavored tomatoes on the market.

   5. Kidney beans, green beans, this is a common vegetable variety in the north. Raw food is poisonous.

   6. Purple lettuce, the leaves are purple lettuce, looks very tender.

   7. Purple-backed sunflower, a little rough, can only eat tender and pointed.

   8. Purple okra is promoted as a health vegetable and has several functions. Is it true? I haven’t eaten it and I don’t have a voice.

   9. Panax notoginseng, the leaves of Panax notoginseng have a slightly thick texture, and I usually use them for scrambled eggs.

   10. Broccoli, a scientific name for green cauliflower, has tall seedlings and very small and light flowers.

   11. Cabbage, very crisp, suitable for making vegetable salad.

  12. Eggplant, a variety introduced from Japan, has a small shape and is a bit sluggish, but it is delicious

  13. Zebra tomatoes are very expensive and are said to sell one for each US dollars. Everyone ate a lot of dollars on the spot!

  15. Chicken cage, connected to the hillside, chicken can go up the mountain If they wish.
