Chinese New Year diet gains and losses

BY Berton Gladstone 2020-05-03

Spring Festival can be regarded as the most solemn festival of Chinese people. Naturally low, the relationship between the Spring Festival and diet is also the closest. For the vast majority of people, the consumption of food during the Spring Festival has changed dramatically compared to weekdays. Some of these changes are good for health (called "gain"), and some are harmful to health (called "loss"). After the festival has basically passed, I will summarize my gains and losses during this period.

First, the regularity of eating changes. Most of the time did not insist on the normal three meals a day. Sometimes, although I eat three times a day, the meal time is not regular, and the amount of food I eat is much more, but very little; there are a few days because I wake up too late and simply eat two meals a day. The irregular timing and quantity of meals is a bad burden for the digestive system, and it is not conducive to total control, and it is easy to make people fat. Fortunately, the family''s gastrointestinal tract is relatively healthy and has withstood the test. Moreover, because more attention is paid to controlling the total diet, there is basically no fattening.

Second, the staple food is not ideal. It was distributed by the unit, sent by friends, and made by the elderly... resulting in the accumulation of a lot of buns, bean bags, flower rolls and other holiday staples at home. Those staple foods look a lot of different shapes, different shapes, jujube steamed buns, small steamed buns, bean paste, jujube mud buns, bunny-shaped buns, fish-shaped buns..., but you can find out that they are actually It''s a thing-refined white flour. The bad thing is, in order to finish these beautifully shaped staple foods as soon as possible and avoid mold growth, we had to eat and eat next meal. During the Spring Festival, we hadn’t eaten rice at home or even eaten whole grains. In short, the variety of staple food (not the color) is too monotonous.

Third, eat more vegetables. Vegetables are really expensive. They cost 5 and 6 yuan a catty, especially those fresh green vegetables. However, this is the characteristic of compound holiday consumption: not choosing the right ones, only choosing the expensive ones. When my friends come to my house for New Year, I always ask them to buy fresh vegetables. I found that foods such as meat and seafood were not very popular during the holiday season, because many family refrigerators were already full and there was no place to put them.

Fourth, eat less fruit. This year’s Dalian fruit is called an expensive one! However, any better fruit, such as tangerines, oranges, strawberries, etc., will cost 8-10 yuan a catty, even mainland fruits such as apples and bananas will cost 5-6 yuan, which is too great Expensive. The skyrocketing food prices are really crazy, and the fruits are particularly ridiculous. If you can’t afford it, let’s eat less! On average, it certainly does not meet the 200-400 grams per day recommended by the Chinese Resident’s Dietary Guidelines 2007.

Fifth, consumption of seafood and meat has increased significantly, and consumption of soybean products has decreased significantly. Before the holiday, the freezer compartment of the refrigerator was filled with all kinds of meat, fish and seafood. Some cannot be put down and have to be placed outdoors. The temperature outside Dalian is not very low, so we must eat fast. This has led to a significant increase in the consumption of seafood and meat. In comparison, soybean products such as tofu are not easy to preserve, and it is difficult to buy and eat during the holiday season, so the consumption of soybean products has decreased significantly.

Sixth, the consumption of nuts is basically zero, and the consumption of fried foods is basically zero. First of all, I want to say that this article is "gain", not "lost". All kinds of nuts and all kinds of fried foods are classic holiday foods, but in my home, their consumption has decreased year by year, and this year basically achieved zero consumption. Nuts and fried foods contain a lot of energy, which has to be guarded against people like me who want to control weight.

Seventh, eat more at home, eat less at restaurants. During the holiday season, I feasted my family and friends 4 times in my house, once in other people’s houses, and only once in restaurants. Under the premise of the same amount of food, it is undoubtedly healthier to eat at home, because there are fewer unhealthy condiments such as oil and salt, the quality of animal raw materials is better, and the vegetable raw materials are fresher, so you can eat more at ease. Although it is troublesome to cook a table dish at home, it also exercises the body, improves cooking skills, saves money, and is healthy. You can do three things in one fell swoop, no, not four.

Eighth, pay attention to rest and avoid fatigue. Because I am determined to have a healthy year. During the Spring Festival holiday, I mainly sleep, chat with friends, and go out. I don’t have much time to play mahjong and online games, especially if I don’t have a lot of time to engage in these activities. The project, so to avoid consumption and fatigue, was able to go to work today full of energy.

Time flies, age is mad, after summing up is pioneering, and strive for a healthier next Spring Festival.
