Why do people like to eat garbage

BY Berton Gladstone 2020-05-07

When the weather gets warmer in spring, a large number of (almost one by one) barbecue stalls will appear on both sides of the street near my community. Not to mention, most of them do not have legal sanitation permit procedures. There is no even water (pipe), just a few buckets of water to take care of tableware. One can imagine the health status. However, the strange thing is that there are many eaters and the business is good. The people who eat or stand or sit are densely packed. I saw parents eating with their children (wearing school uniforms), people with suits and leather clothes eating, and more people with college-looking looks... The scary thing is that this phenomenon is not uncommon. In many "famous" streets, dirty, messy, smoky barbecue stalls have become a summer scene.

Dirty environment, unwashable tableware, meat from unknown sources, smoke rich in carcinogens (such as benzopyrene, heterocyclic amines, dioxins, etc.) Knowing that the lice on the head of bald heads, the obvious problem, still cannot stop people from chasing junk food. Is it because these barbecues are cheaper? More delicious? More suitable for the street culture tastes of the Chinese? More in line with the traditional dietary tradition of Chinese people who only talk about good food and no hygiene? Or fundamentally, because we are too poor? The standard of living is too low ?

In short, in my opinion, a street barbecue that loves such garbage is like a bad habit like spitting everywhere. Many people may use traditional food culture to justify, or use low productivity levels as an excuse. However, this behavior is obviously incompatible with our current economic level, with the urban civilization of high-rise buildings, and with the reality that food safety issues are receiving much attention.
