Obesity is actually a disease

BY Carol Carey 2020-05-17

Recently, a fat girl is going to make "China’s first fat model" Reports of shooting nude photos on the back caused a lot of attention. The 20-year-old Cantonese girl Zeng Jing is 1.6 meters tall and weighs 220 pounds. Many netizens discussed their confidence, courage, rights, beauty, etc. It is now a society with diverse values, and it is not surprising to have fat as the beauty, but don’t forget, obesity is a disease-of course, like everyone, I oppose discrimination against obesity, just like discrimination against hepatitis, diabetes, etc. All diseases are the same, but obesity is a disease, and it is harmful to health.

Overweight and obesity can lead to serious health consequences. It is an important high-risk factor for chronic diseases such as the following:

Cardiovascular diseases (mainly heart disease and stroke) − This is already the number one cause of death in the world, causing 17 million deaths each year.

Diabetes − has quickly become a global epidemic. Musculoskeletal disorders-especially osteoarthritis.

Certain cancers (endometrium, breast and large intestine).

If "fat is beautiful" is understandable, "disease is beautiful" can not be justified in any case. This is actually a pathological psychology. In my opinion, all obese people should actively lose weight, not take pride in it.
