What is good for myopia

BY Berton Gladstone 2020-05-08

The suggestion that myopia should eat more pig liver is widely spread, because pig liver is rich in vitamin A, and vitamin A has good vision. But in fact, the effect of vitamin A on vision has nothing to do with myopia. It mainly affects the eyesight of the eyes in dark light (so-called "dark adaptation"). Vitamin A deficiency will lead to a decline in dark adaptation (in severe cases, it may cause night blindness). It can cause damage (spots, ulcers, etc.) of the conjunctiva (parts commonly known as "white eyes") or cornea (parts commonly known as "black eyes"), but it does not cause myopia. Eating pig liver is not effective for myopia.

In addition to pig liver, there are many dietary recommendations for myopia, from lean meat to fish eyes, from coarse grains to green leafy vegetables, involving nutrients from vitamin A to vitamin B2, from Fe (iron) When it comes to selenium (selenium), plus protein and DHA, it''s really comprehensive. It makes sense to say that there are a lot of balanced diets. But what is the actual situation?

It is well known that myopia (except for pseudo-myopia) is caused by deformation of the eyeball-the anterior and posterior diameter increases, and the lens cannot focus on the retina normally. No matter what food you eat, what nutrients, or even medicines, it is impossible to change the shape of the eyeballs-to shorten the front and back diameter of the eyeballs to normal. As far as I know, there is currently no clinically corrective surgery to correct myopia. At present, the correction of myopia surgery mostly changes the convexity and concavity of the crystal, thereby improving the imaging focal length and effect. Obviously, no matter what food, nutrients or drugs you eat, it is impossible to change the convexity and concavity of the crystal.

In one sentence, food (or nutrients) is not effective for the treatment of myopia. In other words, no matter whether short-sighted or not, you should eat a balanced diet, no difference.
