5 reasons why potatoes can become the fourth staple food

   1. Potatoes are rich in starch like grain. Because the ingredients are similar, their taste is similar. They are bland and tasteless. You need to add oil, sugar, salt, and various additives to make them delicious.    2. Potatoes are rich in vitamin C, the content is not inferior to most vegetables and fruits, and because of the protection of starch, its vitamin C is not easy to damage and lose during cooking and heating, and its utilization rate is higher than that of ordinary vegetables. Rice noodles contain almost no vitamin C.

   3. Potatoes are rich in carotene, much higher than rice noodles. But there are reports that its content is twice that of carrots.

   4. Potatoes are rich in potassium, not inferior to most vegetables and fruits, much higher than rice white noodles. The content of other minerals is also higher than that of rice noodles.

   5. Potatoes are rich in dietary fiber (which may also include resistant starch, etc.), roughly equivalent to coarse grains, and have a health value higher than refined grains such as rice noodles.

   Potatoes have obvious nutritional advantages compared to rice flour, but it is very difficult to eat rice noodles as a staple food instead of rice noodles. Sweet potatoes are not as good as sweet potatoes. Except for steamed potatoes and plain mashed potatoes, I have never eaten potatoes that appear as staple food. The kind of milk beans or buns that are exclusively for infants and young children may be the only exception.

  On the contrary, we often eat some potatoes that appear as dishes, fried, mixed, stewed, braised, shredded... and potato products, such as vermicelli, vermicelli, etc., and often eat fries, potatoes Slices of potatoes that appear as snacks. They are far from the way to eat staple food, it is not the same thing. According to reports, it is possible to mix dry potato powder (about 1/3) in flour, and I haven’t eaten it myself.
