  Sippy diet therapy is mainly for patients with active peptic ulcers. The basic plan is to drink 100 ml of milk for patients with ulcers 12 times a day or more to neutralize stomach acid (this is only the basic plan, and later Many improved versions, the daily milk consumption is more than 1000 ~ 3000 ml). This diet therapy has indeed relieved some patients with peptic ulcers. At the time, there was no effective medicine for treating peptic ulcers, so that it has been used clinically for fifty or sixty years. Views have a profound effect. However, it was later discovered that the effect of Sippy diet therapy on peptic ulcers is not stable, and it is not effective for many patients, because many studies have shown that milk neutralizes gastric acid and buffers the gastric mucosa (positive effect), while it also stimulates gastric acid secretion, Damage to the gastric mucosa (reverse action), the result of the "positive action" and "reverse action" offset is that "reverse action" prevails. In textbooks about peptic ulcers, it is easy to see the argument against drinking milk in large quantities (Sippy diet therapy), but there is no argument against drinking milk in normal amounts (such as the seventh edition of Internal Medicine). The personal experience of patients with peptic ulcers is not only relieved by drinking normal amounts of milk, but also aggravated by drinking normal amounts of milk, and because the conditions of peptic ulcers themselves are more variable, easy to ease, and easy to relapse, Therefore, it cannot be determined that drinking normal amounts of milk is harmful (or beneficial) to ulcers. In theory, milk (normal amount) does stimulate gastric acid secretion, but any food, especially nutritious foods such as meat, eggs, etc., will stimulate gastric acid secretion, so it cannot be said to drink milk (normal amount) Harmful and taboo milk.
