How to eat fruits in diabetes

  Like the clinical treatment of diabetes, diabetes diet control has also changed in recent years. According to the past (10 years or more ago), diabetes can not eat fruits, because fruits contain simple sugars, blood sugar rises faster. However, the current understanding is that diabetes can eat fruits (the reason is attached), but pay attention to how to eat:

   First, don’t eat too much, don’t exceed 100-200 grams per day. After all, fruits contain more simple sugars, and blood sugar rises faster.

  Secondly, after eating fruit, you should reduce the staple food. Generally, you should eat 2 to 4 taels (100 to 200 grams) of fruit. You should roughly reduce the staple food by 0.5 to 1 taels (50 to 100). After eating fruits (containing simple sugars), in order to control the total intake of sugars, of course, we must reduce the staple food (containing complex sugars).

   Third, eat in the dining room (such as between breakfast and lunch) or at bedtime, avoiding the intake of fruit and staple food at the same time. Because the combined intake of simple sugars and complex sugars, it is faster than the simple sugars intake.

Fourth, choose fruits that contain fewer simple sugars. What fruits contain less simple sugars? Relying on the "Food Composition Table" often fails to draw the correct conclusion, because the data on the food composition table detects sugars in fruits (fruits contain more simple sugars, but they also contain Some complex sugars) instead of simple sugars. A simple method is, (even if it is the same variety), where unsweetened fruits contain less simple sugars; where sweeter fruits contain more simple sugars. Therefore, diabetics can choose unsweetened fruits to eat.

  Why do you now believe that diabetes can eat fruits? There are two main reasons:

  First of all, fruits (including simple sugars) and staple foods (including complex sugars) can be directly raised High blood sugar, and as long as the amount (calculated in sugar) is the same, the total number of blood sugar (glucose) formed is basically the same, except that the former raises blood sugar faster, and the latter raises blood sugar more slowly. In short, there is no essential difference between fruit and staple food in raising blood sugar, only the speed.

  Secondly, fruits have special value for human recipes. In addition to being rich in nutrition, eating fruits is also a manifestation of a good quality of life. For people with diabetes, it is necessary to endure lifelong medication (hypoglycemic drugs). If you don’t allow you to eat fruit for a lifetime, it will be too uncomfortable.
