Drinking tea to lose weight is an illusion

BY Berton Gladstone 2020-06-15

Drinking tea may have some health benefits, but certainly does not include weight loss. Whether it is green tea, black tea or Pu''er tea, weight loss is caused by an illusion. If you just talk casually (like eating more fruits can help you lose weight), it’s okay. If you really use drinking tea as a way to lose weight, you are destined to be disappointed.

Tea drinkers can easily feel the effect of tea on the gastrointestinal tract: hungry faster. This is because tea contains complex ingredients such as caffeine, theophylline and theobromine, which can significantly stimulate gastric acid secretion and promote gastric motility [please note the word "significant" because almost any food, even a glass of hot water, will stimulate it lightly or heavily Gastric acid secretion]. Increased gastric acid secretion (and accelerated peristalsis) helps food digestion and makes people feel less fat or greasy or hungry faster.

But don’t think that “fat-relieving and greasy” or “hungry” is to lose weight, because drinking tea only changes the process and feeling of digestion, not the result of digestion. The energy you eat in your diet, whether it''s sugar, protein or fat, won''t run away because of drinking tea. Obviously, drinking tea does not change your food intake or the composition of your feces. It only changes the digestion process from food to feces. How can it be possible to lose weight?

Someone is fooling It can be said that "drinking tea helps to break down fat." It seems that drinking tea can break down body fat (subcutaneous fat or visceral fat, etc.), which is simply a dream. Eating a certain substance (whether food or medicine) makes the fat in the body disappear without any reason, and there are no side effects. This dream attracts many people, deceives many people, and will continue to cheat. In fact, neither the fat in the body nor the fat in the diet will be reduced by drinking tea.

Pu''er tea and black tea have a stronger effect on stimulating gastric acid secretion than green tea. It is no wonder that drinking Pu''er tea to lose weight is very popular. I have seen someone who suffers from stomach pain (related to increased gastric acid secretion and damage to the gastric mucosa) drinking Pu''er to lose weight. I talked to the students privately. Did she want to drink her stomach so as to achieve the purpose of losing weight? From being misled to being brutal, it is really the same thing.

Others try to use caffeine''s excitement to reason about the weight-loss effect of tea. Caffeine excites people and increases basic metabolic energy consumption, which has a weight-loss effect. Caffeine does make people more spiritual and exercise more powerful, but it has little effect on basal metabolism and is better than nothing. Therefore, tea, coffee, caffeinated beverages, etc. are not sufficient to achieve weight loss. Of course, if you are willing to give it a try, I am not against it.

Some people do drink tea and lose weight, but this is not enough to show that drinking tea has a weight loss effect. Because weight loss is affected by many factors, such as changes in diet, exercise, and mental state can affect body weight.

It must be pointed out that there are many weight loss health products in the name of "X and X tea", but in fact it is not tea, but some Chinese herbal preparations, just drink it in the form of "tea" . Using this "tea" to lose weight is either another dream or an adventure ~ quietly add weight loss drugs to achieve weight loss.
