How far is the stroke from you

BY Iris Wheatley 2020-06-21

Cerebral stroke is not only the enemy of the health of the elderly, but also tends to be younger. Once an attack occurs, it can cause paralysis and can be fatal. It not only has a high morbidity and disability rate, but also a high mortality rate. The distress caused by self-disability and self-family care also makes people talk about "wind" and discoloration, so there is also the saying "once a stroke, the whole family goes crazy". So, are there any "crack marks" before the onset of stroke?

  1. A dark cloud appears in front of you: Suddenly there is a darkening in front of your eyes, which recovers within a few seconds or tens of seconds. It shows that the retina has transient ischemia. The study found that the ophthalmic artery is the most sensitive to ischemia and the earliest symptoms appear. Therefore, the occurrence of transient darkness is regarded as an early signal of cerebrovascular disease.

   2. Vertigo: For middle-aged and elderly people to have transient vertigo, they should also be alert to the occurrence of stroke. Because of the causes of vertigo, in addition to hypertension, otogenic, ocular, and other causes, posterior cerebellar arteriosclerosis stenosis, thrombosis, cerebellar hemorrhage, etc. also appear to be "turning in circles." For those with "three highs", more attention should be paid.

  3. Numbness of hands and feet: Whether it is hand numbness or lower limb numbness or both, it is not uncommon in ischemic stroke, but sometimes it is considered to be cervical spondylosis or lumbar spondylosis. In addition, stroke sometimes manifests as involuntary movement of limbs, one-sided or bilateral random strokes or agitation, and disappears on its own. Some people think that this is caused by abnormal discharge of brain tissue during cerebral ischemia. Because this situation is rare, it is most likely to be missed.

   4. Sudden choking or dysphagia: If you are accompanied by slurred speech, you often need to pay attention. People often go to the facial features clinic and often ignore the possibility of stroke. In fact, the cerebral ischemia involves the trisine nerve and the hypoglossal nerve, and the above symptoms often occur.

   5. The emergence of yawns: This is because when the cerebral arteriosclerosis gradually worsens, the lumen becomes narrower and narrower, and cerebral tissue will undergo ischemia and hypoxia. At this time, frequent beatings will occur. yawn.

   6. Small stroke attack: Small stroke is also called transient ischemic attack. Strictly speaking, it is already the lightest stroke, manifested as transient hemiplegia or single limb paralysis, but it lasts for a short time and recovers completely within 24 hours. Therefore, it is still generally regarded as a harbinger of progressive stroke.

Whoever appears one of the above symptoms should go to the hospital for medical examination as soon as possible, so as to diagnose, treat and prevent early, and prevent the onset of stroke.

Of course, once a stroke occurs, the following first aid measures should be taken:

   1. First, don’t panic, keep calm, and let the patient lie on the back without pillows, with the head sideways .

   2. Erase vomitus from time to time to prevent vomitus from blocking the respiratory tract and causing suffocation.

  3. Carry the patient carefully and steadily, prevent bumps and vibrations on the road, and quickly escort the patient to the hospital for rescue.
