Children's common diseases in summer

BY Iris Wheatley 2020-08-01

Recently, from the outpatients in our hospital, the most common are upper respiratory tract infections (commonly known as colds), then chickenpox, hand, foot and mouth, mumps, scarlet fever and other infectious diseases. Parents should not be careless.

(1)上感: Very common, but children of different ages behave differently. The younger the children, the less resistant. In addition to respiratory symptoms, colds will also have gastrointestinal symptoms. When children have stomach pains repeatedly, don’t just consider gastrointestinal symptoms. It may be Enlarged mesenteric lymph nodes caused by repeated respiratory infections. Don''t eat antibiotics and antipyretics indiscriminately, you must grasp the indications, and check the blood routine in time if necessary.

   (2) Chickenpox has recently become popular in some schools, and classes have even been suspended. Don''t think that this disease is only for babies. 8 and 9 year olds will do the same. The typical rash is "four generations in the same house", which must be identified with urticaria. One of the biggest differences is that the former is common on the head, while the latter is rare. Adults can also get sick. Adult shingles are caused by this varicella-zoster. Neurotrophic, the pain is very severe, you should go to the hospital in time.

  (3) Hand, foot and mouth are very powerful recently. The typical ones know that there is a rash on the hand, foot and mouth, but the atypical is terrible. When the child has a high fever, vomiting, muscle tremors. Need to seek medical attention quickly. Children under three years old should be extra careful.

   (4) Mumps is not uncommon recently. The parotid gland (near the earlobe) suddenly swells. Be careful. Boys should pay more attention to it, which can cause orchitis. Go to the infectious department in time.

Precautionary Tips: It is important for children to go to places with many clutter and wash their hands immediately after returning home.

The wisdom to keep children from getting sick is that parents live old, learn old, be smart parents, and know more good doctors like me.
