Chickenpox vaccination time

BY Carol Carey 2020-07-27

  Varicella vaccine is prepared from the varicella virus subcultured strain and is the only way to prevent varicella infection. Vaccination against varicella can not only prevent chickenpox, but also prevent complications caused by varicella zoster. So what is the timing of varicella vaccination?

  Vaccination time of varicella vaccine

  Varicella vaccine is an unplanned vaccine and needs to be vaccinated at its own expense. According to the normal vaccination time for varicella vaccine for babies, the first dose will be given at the age of 18 months and the second dose will be given at the age of 4 years. Of course, this time is not fixed. Choose according to the situation of mother and baby. Pay attention to the time of varicella vaccination:

   1. If you have not been vaccinated before, and your baby is 18 months old to 3 years old, after the first dose, you will receive the second dose when you are 4 years old. And at least 3 months apart from the prodrug;

   2. If you have not received varicella vaccine before, and those who are 4-12 years old are vaccinated with two doses, the two doses should be at least 3 months apart;

   3. If one person has been vaccinated and the age is 4-12 years old, the second dose should be vaccinated, at least 3 months apart from the previous dose.
