How long is the hepatitis B vaccine valid?

BY Carol Carey 2020-07-27

Hepatitis B vaccine is the first vaccine after the baby is born, and it is also an effective means to prevent hepatitis B. After the hepatitis B vaccine is vaccinated, it can effectively prevent the hepatitis B virus, but how long is the hepatitis B vaccine effective?

How long is the hepatitis B vaccine valid

The hepatitis B vaccine is valid for 3 years. After vaccination, if antibodies are produced. The protection period for people is about 10 years, and some are for life. It depends on individual circumstances. Therefore, under normal circumstances, it is required to check once a year. If the antibody titer is low or there is no antibody, the vaccine should be injected in time.

After hepatitis B vaccination, the anti-HBs titer will gradually decrease with time, when the anti-HBs titer drops below the protective value, it will no longer be immune to hepatitis B virus. Therefore, in order to ensure the preventive effect, after the hepatitis B vaccine is vaccinated, a blood test should be taken to check two and a half, if the anti-HBs are positive, it means that the vaccination is successful, and the anti-HBs titer should also be checked.

If the maximum anti-HBs titer is only 10-100mIU/m1, it is best to repeat the seeding after 6 months; when the maximum anti-HBs titer is 101-1000mIU/ml, it should be Retest anti-HBs within 1-2 years after the first inoculation; if anti-HBs are between 1001 and 10000mIU/ml, they should be retested within 2 to 4 years; when anti-HBs are greater than 10000mIU/ml, 4-6 Re-testing within the year; when anti-HBs titers are found to be less than 10mIU/ml, they should be replanted, and the replanting is still carried out according to the initial dose and time schedule.

Hepatitis B vaccination is a reliable method to prevent hepatitis B, but it is not absolute and once and for all. After inoculation, be sure to check the inoculation effect and anti-HBs titer, and retest in time according to the anti-HBs titer. When the titer is less than the protection value, re-seed in time to keep the effective anti-HBs titer in the body. In order to effectively prevent hepatitis B virus infection, and truly achieve the purpose of preventing hepatitis B.

Hepatitis B surface antibody titers less than or equal to 10 IU/ml should be vaccinated within half a year, antibody titers greater than 10 IU/ml can be replanted within 6 years. Most scholars in my country suggest that it should be strengthened once within 3 years after immunization.
