After bowel resection, the digestive function has not been completely restored. Is there any effect on protein absorption after bowel resection?

Protein digestion takes place in the stomach first, but the amino acids produced are minimal, mostly entering the duodenum in the form of macromolecular peptides, which are further hydrolyzed by trypsin. Under normal circumstances, it is mainly absorbed by the jejunum and less absorbed by the ileum. By the end ileum, there is basically no digestible and absorbable protein or amino acid. Food protein 90% above is absorbed in the small intestine. If the upper half of the small intestine is removed or more than 2/3 of the lower part, the protein absorption rate will decrease.
