Studies have shown that cooked or otherwise processed red meat increases the risk of breast cancer in laboratory animals. In this regard, researchers suspect that this will also lead to an increased risk of breast cancer in humans. Other potential risk factors that may cause breast cancer in red meat include: animal fat and an iron compound contained in red meat. Studies have shown that this compound plays an important role in the pathogenesis of breast cancer.
