Why can't red and white radish be eaten together?

Female  50 years old 2018-06-28
I think red and white radishes are both vegetables, so in order to make the color of the dishes beautiful, I often cook two kinds of radishes together. Today, a friend told me that these two kinds of radishes cannot be eaten together. Why?

Eating red and white radishes can lead to nutritional damage. White radish contains extremely high levels of vitamin c, but red radish contains a decomposing enzyme called ascorbic acid, which destroys vitamin c in white radish. Once the red and white radishes cooperate, the vitamin c in the white radishes will be lost. Not only that, carrots have played the role of destroyer in cooking with vitamin C-containing vegetables. Courgettes, pumpkins, etc. also contain decomposition enzymes similar to carrots.
