Pregnant women who do not eat fish can consider supplements such as flaxseed oil, walnuts, pine nuts, and chia seeds. Walnuts, pine nuts, flax seeds, linseed oil, and perilla oil contain the precursor of DHA, a-linolenic acid, but its conversion efficiency into DHA in the body is very low. It is not as efficient and convenient as obtaining DHA directly from fish.
