Why keep a diet diary?

I was pregnant and went to a nutrition clinic. They suggested that I keep a diet diary. Why should I keep a diet diary?

    We eat a variety of foods every day to provide our bodies with energy, water, carbohydrates, fats, proteins, minerals, vitamins and other life-sustaining elements. Too much or too little total food, or different types and processing methods of food, will also cause different degrees of adverse effects on human health, and may even cause disease. Food may be the cause or aggravation Incentives.
