The leek is pungent and salty, warm in nature, and has the effects of warming qi, dispersing blood and detoxifying, keeping warm, and strengthening the stomach and intestines. Its leaves and roots have the functions of dispersing stasis, activating blood, stopping bleeding, stopping diarrhea, and helping the liver and collaterals. Leek seeds have the functions of fixing essence, assisting yang, nourishing kidney, curing belt and warming waist and knee.
