Why does soy sauce taste salty?

I feel so salty every time I add soy sauce, why does it taste like this?

    It is normal for soy sauce to taste salty. The salty taste in soy sauce comes from sodium chloride, which contains between 12% and 14%. It is one of the main sources of sodium in the diet. Edible soy sauce must reduce the intake of salt in cooking.
