I went to the pharmacy to buy some folic acid myself. It wasn't prescribed by the hospital. How much can I supplement?

Expectant mothers should use folic acid supplements under the guidance of a doctor. The appropriate amount of folic acid supplements for expectant mothers is 400 micrograms (0.4 mg) per day. If the daily dosage of folic acid supplementation exceeds this standard, it will mask the symptoms of vitamin B12 deficiency, and at the same time interfere with zinc metabolism, resulting in insufficient supply of zinc in the body.
