Can hanging white lumps in food cause cancer?

Male  65 years old 2018-06-30
My grandmother likes to eat yuba. Recently, liver cancer was found. When my mother cleaned the remaining yuba in the house, she found that it contained hanging white blocks. Will the hanging white blocks in the food cause cancer?

In fact, the chemical name of Baibai block is sodium formaldehyde sulfoxylate, which belongs to industrial bleach, and is not a permitted food additive. But some lawbreakers added it to processed foods such as yuba and rice noodles. The hanging block has been listed as a possible carcinogen by the National Cancer Research Institute (IARC).
