Citric acid is present in many foods, the most common preservative. It exists in fruits such as lemon and grapefruit, which can increase the environmental acidity of microorganisms and make it difficult for bacteria to grow and reproduce. Although citric acid will not harm the digestive organs of the human body, it will promote the excretion and deposition of calcium in the body, which may cause hypocalcemia and increase the risk of duodenal cancer.
