Male  40 years old 2018-06-27
Every time the wife fry the string beans, she will boil them in water first, and then cook them in the oil pan to fry. She said that the uncooked string beans are poisonous, is that true?

Uncooked string beans are toxic. They contain two toxins, which contain saponins, saponins, and gelatinase inhibitors. They are irritating to the gastrointestinal tract, causing local congestion, swelling, and hemorrhagic inflammation of the gastrointestinal tract. Human red blood cells are agglomerated and hemolyzed.
