Seeing many reports on TV that drinking soda can cause osteoporosis, is this the case?

The two are not related. The independent report of the experts pointed out that no ingredients in the soda were found to have any substantial effect on the absorption or loss of calcium. In 1997, the National Academy of Sciences medical research found that the ingredients in soft drinks did not have any substantial negative effects on calcium absorption. It was concluded that for most healthy adults of all ages, there is no basis for directly linking calcium absorption to soda drinking.
