Compared with the same amount of beef, rice, milk, and eggs, the phosphorus content of cola-type soft drinks is not high. The phosphorus content per 100 milliliters of cola-type soda is 17 mg. According to the data provided by the Chinese Nutrition Society, the daily phosphorus intake of adults is 700 mg, which is equivalent to the total phosphorus content of 12 cans of 330 ml of cola-type soft drinks. The tolerable amount of phosphorus intake by healthy adults every day is 3500 mg, which is about the total amount of phosphorus in 62 cans of 330 ml of cola-type soda. Therefore, in general, for a healthy adult, under the premise of adequate calcium intake, drinking cola soft drinks in moderation will not directly cause osteoporosis.
