In the 1960s and 1970s, the Nobel Prize in Chemistry and the Peace Prize winner Linus Pauling were obsessed with vitamin C therapy, advocating large doses of vitamin C to treat and prevent colds, cardiovascular diseases and even cancer. However, a large number of scientific studies have confirmed that large doses of vitamin C cannot reduce the incidence of common colds. The instructions for vitamin C drugs do not clearly indicate the efficacy of preventing and treating colds.
