Can lung cancer blood test be detected?

BY Ira Max 2020-07-24

Lung cancer is one of the fastest growing morbidity and mortality rates, and the most threatening to the health and life of the population. In the past 50 years, many countries have reported that the incidence and mortality of lung cancer have increased significantly. The incidence and mortality of lung cancer in men accounted for the first place in all malignant tumors, the incidence in women accounted for the second place, and the mortality rate ranked second. The etiology of lung cancer is still not completely clear. A large number of data show that long-term heavy smoking is closely related to the occurrence of lung cancer.

Lung cancer commonly used examinations The method is image examination:

  (1) Chest X-ray examination is an important means of early detection of lung cancer, and it is also a method of postoperative follow-up.

  (2) Chest CT examination Chest CT can further verify the location and extent of lesions, and can roughly distinguish between benign and malignant. It is an important method for the diagnosis of lung cancer. Low-dose spiral chest CT can effectively detect early lung cancer, and CT-guided transthoracic lung biopsy is an important technique for obtaining cytological and histological diagnosis.

  (3) Type B ultrasound examination It is mainly used to find the vital organs in the abdomen and the lymph nodes in the abdominal cavity and retroperitoneum. It is also used to check the lymph nodes in the double clavicle fossa. For the lung lesions or chest wall lesions adjacent to the chest wall, the sac, solidity and ultrasound guidance can be identified. Puncture biopsy; ultrasound is also commonly used for pleural effusion extraction positioning.

   (4) MRI examination has certain value in the clinical staging of lung cancer, and is especially suitable for judging whether the spine, ribs and brain have metastasized.

   (5) Bone scan examination is a routine examination used to judge bone metastases of lung cancer. When the bone scan examination shows suspicious bone metastasis, MRI examination can be performed on the suspicious site.

  (6) PET-CT examination is not recommended for routine use. It is more sensitive and specific than CT in the diagnosis of mediastinal lymph node metastasis of lung cancer.

Routine blood can not detect cancer, only various tumor markers in serological examination are used for the preliminary screening of malignant tumors, other indicators are meaningless, but even tumor markers are not elevated It must mean that there is tumor growth in the body, which can only be used as a reminder. If there is an increase in tumor markers, then the tumor of the corresponding part should be investigated.
